I thought I would share the news that there is a new Configuration Manager book in town and I understand that it will be available within the next few days. My friend and colleague Martyn Coupland has spent much of his time in the last 12 months or so writing his debut into the world of authoring – Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Advanced Deployment. Having chatted with Martyn in recent months about this it promises to be a valuable addition to any Configuration Manager consultants library. If you’re planning on upgrading or implementing a new Configuration Manager infrastructure then this is also the book for you.

Having known Martyn through his System Center community work for a while now and more recently as his colleague I’ve seen some of the work he has done. I know some of the organisations he has worked with in designing and implementing Configuration Manager and he really has a deep knowledge of the product combined with exposure to various shapes and sizes of Configuration Manager across a wide variety of organisations. To advocate this experience Martyn was recently chosen to speak at TechEd North America 2014. Having spoken to fellow Configuration Manager community leaders and contributors there seems to be a real buzz around the launch of this book, I think it will fill a long standing gap in the market for advanced design and implementation drawn from real life examples in the field.

I’m looking forward to my copy, it’s currently on pre-order but I recommend you get yours ordered now as I have it on good authority that you might see it become available before the week is out.

You can order it direct from Packt Publishing here - http://bit.ly/2086en
